My name is Juan Anguiano. I am a senior journalism student at Columbia College Chicago. I am addicted to the news. I live and breathe news in english and spanish. In a city like Chicago there is always something going on. I not only focus in on Chicago, but the world outside of Chicago. I am one of those people, those people that tell stories and tell them well, some may call them journalist.

Juan Anguiano Fuerza Informativa Azteca

So my internship with Azteca America channel 13 has been extremely hands on and very interesting. Lately I have been doing stand ups. Which are sometimes hard to do because you have to know what your saying and sometimes I don’t know what I’m saying. The lighting for a stand up has to be right, so for this they use a reflector, which beams sunlight straight into your face and makes you look as pale as milk. On Friday I think I got blinded and tanned by the reflector, but the important thing to mention is that I got it done after like 7 or 8 takes. The reporter has told me to do news packages for the stories we do, so that just in case she wants to go on vacation she has someone to cover her.

In the summer she went on vacation and I covered for her, but I did not do full news packages, a freelancer did. Being that I am not a broadcast journalist student I feel like I’m learning what people are studying in 4 years in 4 months. It will be very interesting to see how and if I create news package…
